Most people who follow a Stone Age type diet to lose body fat are aware of the foods they should eat i.e. mainly lean meat, fish, fruits nuts and vegetables, however most of these diet regimes involve much more than just what foods to eat.

The timing of meals is also very important. In prehistoric times or the stone age the cavemen found food availability was extremely variable depending on the success of the hunt or discovery of new sources of food such as fruits and nuts. Compare this with today where for the more fortunate people on this planet food is available 24/7, allowing regular meal times and the possibility of eating not because we are hungry but because of routine.

When the next meal was uncertain our ancestors often had intermittent periods of fasting in between and some experts today believe that our body benefits from this way of eating by the way it deals with fat.

Likewise with exercise the modern idea of going to gymnasium and plodding away on an exercise machine at the same level of effort without changing pace is very different to how our ancestors got their exercise which was in intense bursts as they hunted their prey or even ran away as they became prey.

Research done recently is suggesting that varying physical activity is one of the most important aspects to any exercise program. Creatures in the wild exhibit stop-and-go motion as opposed to long periods of steady effort. In fact, humans are the only creatures that attempt to do Endurance type physical activities.

Serve what you want for each meal, at the very beginning, (and remember not to load your plate up!), then restrict yourself to what you have on your plate. If you are being served by someone else, then eat only what you normally do, you don’t have to clean the plate out!

Drink plenty of water, this not only keeps you hydrated but it can also help to stave off food cravings at unwonted hours. And if you must have a little something to nibble on, then make sure that what you are eating is something healthy - stay away from the candy bars!

Doing just one or any number of these simple and easy ways to lose weight will help you to get control back into your life and help you to lose weight in a manner that is not only healthy but which is also easy for you to stick with day after day. How to Lose Weight Quick

Checking all the nutrients in your food and policing everything that you put in your body is one of the keys in how to lose weight quick. Controlling saturated and trans fats, cholesterol, high and low proteins, sugars etc will decide how many carbs go into system and what exercise your going to need to burn off the excess carbs that will be stored as fat in your body. Cutting your portions down to the recommended sizes is crucial too, due to our excessive society we are eating way too much food and this needs to stop. You’re probably eating twice the portion sizes recommended by dietitians.

You need to read up and get yourself educated on nutrition, get to know all the facts.

Read the nutrition label on all the products you buy in the store. This way you can plan your meals as you learn about diets, nutrients and what is stored in the food you eat. Keep away from saturated and trans fats, sodium and cholesterol whilst consuming as much fiber, iron,calcium vitamins A and C as you can. If you look closely on the nutrients label there is something called the Daily Value column and the ideal percentage you’re looking for is between five and fifteen percent.

Pay attention to the serving size, what might seem low in fat or calories could be because the potion size is really small. If you want to eat more than the recommended portion size then your calories will double or triple what’s on the label. The small size of the recommended portion will surprise you! You may also want to ask yourself if you really want to eat something that has a very high calorie count, looking at the other nutrients on the label will help you decide if it’s worth eating all them calories just to gain the other nutrients. If the food contains a very high 400-500 calories per portion maybe not even eating it may be a better idea to move on and adjust your new diet menu.

Keep away from sugars as they are high in calories and low in other nutrients. fructose corn syrup, glucose, maple and corn syrup etc need to be avoided. High calorie Fats also need to be watched closely to keep the calorie intake down and to keep away heart disease. If you can, don’t eat processed foods as they are high in sodium and will effect your blood pressure.

Have you ever thought about things you did when you were growing up? Yes we all have reminisced over the years in one way or another. These returning thoughts and reminiscing usually reminds us of a lesson we learned or perhaps a discovery we made. We still look back from time to time.

I remember my experience about taking a bath. It was quite the every day thing for mom to say before bed time “Go take your bath, Sonny.” “Ok mom”. So I filled the tub with water [ no showers in those days] and climbed in like always. On this particular occasion after being in the tub for 20 minutes mom came in. “Well are you not finished with your bath yet?” “Almost mom, I just need to wash my hair and my face”. Mom looked amazed “Do you mean you haven’t got that far yet?” “Oh yes mom, I always start with the feet, then I work my way up and finally finish with my face.”

Mom said “O Yuk Sonny, you need to think about how to take a bath” I said “Why?” “What do you mean? ” “I am taking the bath and I am getting cleaned up”. Mom said “Well Sonny you’re taking your BATH BACKWARDS”.

“The right way to take a bath is to start with your face ears neck and hair first while the bath water is clean”. “Then you move down cleaning your self”. “Then you get to the middle part [ smelly part ] and then further down the legs and finally the feet another [ smelly part ] and you’re done.” “So you need to stop taking your BATH BACKWARDS as it is much more desirable to take your bath forward for better results”. I learned a lot that night from mom. I never took my BATH BACKWARDS again.

That’s the way people do things sometimes. BATH BACKWARDS!

What do we mean?

Usually when a person decides to start some weight loss program or diet program they start BATH BACKWARDS so to speak.

How so?

They usually think they will procure some diet pills or exercise program and their off and running toward their weight loss success. They think it will be a snap. Then they do not get the results expected. Also it is taking a lot more time then they expected. They become discouraged and readily fall back into their original condition or worse. They attempt again and again. They fall back again and again.

What keeps going wrong?

It could be compared to a painter. The painter will prepare the surface by sanding and scraping. Then he will apply the paint coating. The same is true of a successful weight loss candidate. You need to prepare your mind and your heart first. How? By asking yourself these pertinent questions.

So to be successful with your weight loss decision you will need to cooperate and do your part. Another way to think of it is - the plan will not work by itself. It takes two to Tango for weight loss success. In all weight loss coaching efforts the key lies with the participant not the plan.

In one weight loss coaching meeting the weight loss coach was brutally frank. He said “Most of you in this program will not succeed!” ” Yes you will fail!” How is that for starters? However he was totally right and only wanted to work with those who were committed to succeed.

There is a bumper crop of weight loss remedies available today. Why? Because most people fail at their weight loss attempts. Their approach is wrong! There are many approaches to losing weight. As with most things, different people succeed using different methods. There are, however, some approaches that tend to work quite well universally. Below are some methods of losing weight that are both healthy and effective:

Cut Down On Fat and Sugar

Although things like exercise are extremely important, just exercise won’t solve all your problems. It’s very important to make sure that you’re cutting down on your fat and sugar intake. This doesn’t mean you should starve yourself, it simply means that you should make an active effort to choose healthier foods, like veggies and fruits instead of sugary desserts and fatty snacks. Additionally, those unhealthy foods generally don’t provide the necessary nutrients to sustain your body healthfully.

Broaden Your Food Variety

Although it may seem that eating healthy is “boring”, it really isn’t. The same meals daily for months can become boring, but it’s easy to keep dieting interesting by adding more variety to your meals and snacks. Instead of using only one recipe, you can always compile a large collection of interesting recipes to use as you grow tired of the same meals.

Exercise Always!

Although exercise alone won’t solve all of your problems, neither will simply eating healthy. Exercise is an extremely important part of any diet. It not only helps you lose weight, but it also improves physical health and makes you “in shape”. Additionally, it takes as little as only 30 minutes of exercise a day to get the amount you need!

All three of these methods are extremely helpful in losing weight, and should be used together for optimal results. However, there are some “touchy” topics. Below are a few topics that are very vague for many people:

Diet Pills: Yes Or No?

Like most other things, diet pills work for some people, and don’t for others. Though the “natural” methods are preferred, diet pills can be useful if necessary. However, be very careful when selecting a diet pill. Here are a few tips to making the right decision:

-Generally, shelved diet pills aren’t effective, or at least don’t make much a large effect on your weekly weight loss. It’s usually better to stick to over the counter medications.

-It’s very important to make sure that you read the label and understand the possible risks and side effects before selecting a diet pill.

-You should always speak with your doctor before making a decision involving new medications.

How Eating the Right Fats Can Help You Win the Weight Loss Battle!

Nutrients are the components in food that your body uses to repair tissue, maintain a disease-free body and to provide enrgy to move, think and, well, simply remain alive! Good news: you can get the nutrients your body needs from the food you eat, with minimal supplementation, in most cases.

All six primary nutrients needed by the body are available from food sources. Their availability varies by food and nutrient in question. These primary nutrients are: proteins, carbohydrates, fats, vitamins, minerals and water. All six are required for the body’s systems to work well. Repeat: all 6 are needed by your body!

Let’s talk about the dietary “bad guy:” FATS! YUK! Did you realize that some fats are actually “good guys?”

Fat is needed in the body for several reasons, including:

As a support for brain activity.
As a source of energy.
To allow the body to use proteins to repair and build many cells.
As an insulator and as a cushion for your organs.
As a component in the repair of blood vessels and nerve sheaths and linings.

So, fat has a role in optimal health! The key is to get the right fats, in the right amounts in your diet in order to allow needed biological processes to occur, while preventing excess fat from “going to waist” (or hips, thighs, butt or anywhere else!)

Fatty Acids are components of fats, and are split into 2 groups: essential and non-essential. Essential fatty acids, also called EFA’s are all over the media these days. They come in twon principle types: Omega 3’s and Omega 6’s. These fats you need and want in your diet!

Other fats, like saturated fats, have significantly less biological value. These are found in butter, fried foods, many cheeses and in fatty cuts of red meat. They are solids at room temperature, and for many of us, lodge “solidly” in places we’d rather they didn’t! As fo hydrogenated fats and trans-fats? Well, let’s just treat them like the poisonous enemies they are and leave it at that!

So where do we find the “good guy” fats, Omega 3’s and Omega 6’s?

Foods that contain thes types of fats include:

-Unprocessed green vegetables, including spinach, kale and dark salad greens
-Fish, especially deep or cold-water fishes like Salmon and Tuna
-Poultry
-Egg Yolks
-Lean meat and eggs

As a happy coincidence, many sources of Omega 3 and 6 EFA’s are also good sources of protein!

In order to support your efforts to reach your ideal weight and/or body shape:

Avoid adding fats to foods, even while cooking, such as butter and margarine
Avoid fried foods (duh!)
Use low fat or fat free natural cheese instead of high fat cheeses
Trim excess fat off of meats before cooking

Getting enough of the right fats in your diet is as important as avoiding the wrong kind. Be sure to include foods high in essential fatty acids and you are likely to both feel and see the results!

Weight Loss Pills - Friend Or Foe?

Weight loss is one of the worlds largest industries with billions of dollars being made by the companies and simultaneously being spent by the customers. Lets face it, everybody wants to be thin and nobody wants to be fat.

There is a problem with weight loss though, and that problem is motivation. People these days simply don’t have it. No motivation and the height of laziness is the problem for weight gain. Not only does it stop people exercising, people aren’t even cooking anymore; they are buying fast food a couple of times a week. These 2 problems combined is the sole cause for weight gain.

This has brought the perfect opportunity for weight loss, fitness and other companies alike to take advantage and develop products which people would only dream about, and that is weight loss pills. This is self explanatory, some claim that if you take them for a couple of months, you will lose weight. Then when it doesn’t happen, they say you have to couple it with exercise, and further on, when that doesn’t work, you have to couple it with diet and exercise.

This sounds all good, then you do it, it works and you think they are brilliant. The problem with this is that fact that you have been partially brainwashed without realizing that your diet and exercise regimes are the root cause of the weight loss.

Don’t get me wrong, these pills may aid a little and so I guess you can quote that ‘every little bit helps’. So if you think they will help, by all mean take them. In fact, taking them may actually increase your motivation for diet and exercise enabling you to be determined to make your goals.

The problem with weight loss pills is that there are so many variations and kinds out there promising you better results than the next. There is probably a new one made every month saying it is more advanced than ever. They put all the science information on the back which in reality you don’t understand, again manipulating you into becoming a customer.

So again, the real problem is, which brand to go for? That is a major question and a difficult one to answer. My answer would be that I don’t know. How would anyone keep on top of all the new brands evolving and then more products evolving within those brands.

The truth is, your not going to fall for the right weight loss pill, you will fall for a cracking sales pitch. One that really makes you think it will change your life.

I would recommend checking out forums and doing a lot of research on what you purchase, ask people on the Internet. You don’t want to waste money on there things as they are expensive. And not only that, you cant buy one bottle and hope for glory, you have to purchase several months worth.
